In one of the most memorable victories in program history, the University of Central Florida stunned No. 2-ranked BYU 39-31 in double overtime Saturday at the Acrisure Bounce House. Entering the game as a heavy underdog against an undefeated BYU team, the Knights delivered a resilient and relentless performance that electrified the Orlando crowd and secured UCF’s first-ever victory over an AP Top-5 opponent.
The game was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish. Quarterback Keyone Jenkins was exceptional, passing for 293 yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score. UCF amassed 463 total yards and consistently challenged one of the nation’s top-ranked teams on both sides of the ball. The Knights appeared poised to win in regulation before a dramatic sequence that included a blocked field goal and a 10-second runoff sent the contest into overtime.
In the extra periods, UCF refused to blink. After matching BYU’s touchdown in the first overtime, Jenkins connected with tight end Grayson Brousseau for the go-ahead touchdown in the second overtime and then completed a critical two-point conversion to Tyren Hornes. The Knights’ defense delivered the final blow moments later, stopping BYU on fourth down at the UCF 4-yard line to seal the historic upset and spark a field-storming celebration in Orlando.
Beyond the thrilling finish, the victory represented a defining moment in Scott Frost’s return to UCF and a statement that the Knights can compete with the nation’s elite programs. The win ended BYU’s unbeaten season, handed the Cougars their first loss, and showcased the heart and determination of a UCF team that refused to back down from one of college football’s biggest challenges. For Knight Nation, Saturday’s dramatic triumph will long be remembered as one of the greatest victories ever achieved in the Bounce House. Check out game highlights, courtesy of Fox, below:
