The UCF Knights (8-1; 5-0 AAC) narrowly defeated the Owls of Temple (1-9; 0-6 AAC) on Saturday in Philadelphia. The Knights defense struggled to contain the Temple run; and the Owls took full advantage. UCF literally pulled off the win in the final 1:06, reeling in an incredible catch. The Knights would stop the Owls on their final drive and would get the ball back to set-up a 23-yard field goal by Shawn Moffitt. UCF QB Blake Bortles completed 27-of-38 passes, amassing 404 yards of passing and 4 touchdowns. The Knights were very lucky to come off with the win; and they need to play more consistently in their final 3 games. Even if the Knights drop one of their remaining contests, they’re likely to earn a spot in a BCS bowl for the first-time ever in school history. They’ll have the opportunity to make a national statement on Thursday night when they take on the Scarlett Knights of Rutgers (5-4; 2-3 AAC). Kickoff is set for 6:30pm and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN. Catch the highlights of UCF at Temple courtesy of ESPN below:
